Description/Blazon

73d Army Band Baldric

Symbolism
The primary symbol on the baldric is the tricorn image of fortress and leaves used on the distinctive unit insignia of the Virgin Islands Army National Guard.  It is centered on a field of light blue such as is used to represent the sky on the shoulder sleeve insignia.  This field is separated from upper and lower ultramarine sections of the baldric by means of double wavy bands of gold which represent water, the source of the Virgin Islands' strategic importance and value as a center of tourism and local trade.  Black is used in the lining to represent soil fertility and successful commerce.
